Thwarted again!

http://sandra-cherryheart.blogspot.be/2015/10/thwarted-again.html

... too tight.  Yet it looks good.  The strands are all neat and tidy and not pulled tight at the back.  In fact, if I make them any looser the stitches just elongate and distort which doesn't look good at all.I suppose I just need to knit the next size up, but it seems as though they would be too baggy in the foot and ankle then as they fit perfectly now.  At least they would, If I could get them on.  I wonder if I have strange shaped feet?  Abnormally large heels?  Who knows. All I know is, that once again my attempts at knitting fair isle style have been thwarted yet again.  It's enough to make a girl give up.  Such a shame as it looks so pretty that I know one day I'll be suckered into trying it again in the forlorn hope that something will have changed. In the meantime though, it's fair to say that stranded knitting and socks are beyond me, so these will have to become a plain old stripy pair.  Not quite as glamorous or exciting but still really rather nice.: :Oh and just a little update....I know some of you have been very patiently waiting for this blanket pattern to come out.The good news is that I've just been testing out samples and going over the final pattern checks so it will be out very soon.  If all goes well, by the end of the month.: :There, I waffled away after all and here we are at the end!S x ♥SUBSCRIBE:    ...

http://sandra-cherryheart.blogspot.be/2015/11/spice-of-life-cal-last-day.html

... ers, but what we had in mind was those beginners that do already know the ropes, so to get this off the ground as your very first make is an achievement indeed.I'm thrilled that so many of you newbies did take the plunge and it's been so great to hear the messages of all of you, be it newer or more experienced crocheters that have joined in with this blanket with us.  It's been great that so many of you have learnt a new pattern or conquered a new stitch.  But also I'm so very chuffed that so many of you who maybe had nothing to learn but simply liked the pattern and wanted  to join in did so too.  I'm so glad that there was something with this blanket that could appeal to everyone.Of course, the very best bit for me was watching all yo ...

... r.But alas, me and my camera were not due a trip to France or Germany and I don't know of a farmers market around here, so how to make this post relevant to me, to September and to colour?Yarn! It's the answer to most things really isn't it?A yarn festival is very like a market wouldn't you say?  Lots of stalls, a place see wares, to buy and sell.  Sounds like a market and one I can easily get on board with.As I mentioned previously on this blog, I went to Fibre East in the summer and whilst at this 'market' of yarny goodness I found many inspiring things.  The one I am finding most exciting at the moment is actually not yarn... yet.  It's my fluffy spinning things.Let's see the colours this kind of market can give us...Much more inspiring, if you ask me!: :Don't forget to check out the other great 'Colour Collaborative' blogsfor more of today's great posts...Annie at Annie Cholewa Gillian at Tales From a Happy House Jennifer at Thistlebear Claire at Above the River Sarah at Mitenska What is The Colour Collaborative? All creative bloggers make stuff, gather stuff, shape stuff, and share stuff.Mostly they work on their own, but what happens when a group of them work together? Is a creative collaboration greater than the sum of its parts? Colour Collaborative: July

... first place, I also know exactly what to do if they do start showing their ugly little faces in the heel regions. So now, I always make sure I keep a little of any used sock yarn back, ready to leap into action should the need arise.  And that's why it's sock yarn that's inspiring my 'mend' palettes today.Of course, I haven't actually tried darning yet.
