Scatter de poached figs over the top.Bake for approximately 50 minutes until de cake is puffed and golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.Transfer the cake to a rack and cool for 10 minutes before running a blunt knife around the edges and releasing the sides of the pan.Cool the cake to slightly warm or to room temperature before servering. Cool to room temperature right side up.Just before serving, dust the top with either cocoa powder or confectioners' sugar or a little of both. Cut the brownies into 16 squares.
